Hi! Perhaps in America this is the case but it is not standard in the U.K. 'On sale' has nothing to do with lowering the price. Only 'Sale; has that usage. "There is a Sale on in Girly Jeans this Saturday!" "Oh really!- unfortunately our house goes on sale the same day and viewings are my responsibility" Cheers J
