faithful/fateful
That decisive, highly significant day is not “faithful” but “fateful.” Although
the phrase “fateful day” can refer to a day significant in a positive way (“the
fateful day that I first met the my lovely wife”), “fatal” is always negative
(“the fatal day that I first tried to ride my bike ‘no hands’”).
